is the best athlete on the floor with plenty of vertical pop, polished footwork, and inside-out scoring lets him dictate matchups on both ends. He’s a rangy athlete who plays above the rim and also has a nice pull-up. He stretches the floor as a catch-and-shoot threat when his feet are set and is just as comfortable attacking closeouts and finishing through contact. He has scored double digits in all of Cathedral Prep’s early wins. Add in his rebounding presence and willingness to guard multiple spots, and you get a senior leader who knows how to win.

Thompson had a productive Jr. campaign where he averaged 14 ppg for a team that made a run in the state tournament and lost in the elite 8 of 4A classification. He looks to go on a deeper run this season. He is a player who is known for his ability to score on the attack and has no issues creating for himself.

At 6’5″, Michael pairs ideal size with explosive leaping ability and quickness. His pull-up mid-range jumper is strong, and he’s comfortable shooting from NBA range. Thompson’s handle and vision for a frontcourt player are exceptional. His ability showed strongly during the Philly Live sessions, where he averaged 20 points per game and repeatedly pushed the ball in transition, forcing defenses to account for his downhill burst. Beyond scoring, Thompson is an unselfish playmaker who finds teammates in stride. His efforts in AAU drew considerable attention—he received a D-II offer from Gannon and is reportedly on several mid-major radars. Defensively, Thompson brings the same physicality and intensity he shows on offense. He battles through screens, contests shots around the rim, and rebounds aggressively.

Thompson impressed as an offensive catalyst for his Erie Cathedral Prep squad. He has a knack to find a bucket in a blink of an eye. Thompson impressed spacing the floor and converted on several chances from deep. He has a good feel for the game and found his teammates making unselfish plays. Thompson can be effective as an off-ball slasher. He should be a priority for division two programs.

Thompson made a living willing his way to the bucket. He showed that he can operate in transition and had a few emphatic finishes above the rim. He has rangy limbs which allow him to cover ground freely. Thompson finished with a game high 22 points. He got to the charity stripe on several occasions. One thing he needs to improve on is becoming more consistent from the three point line he gives off being a taker not a maker from behind the arc. Thompson should be on the radar of scholarship programs and has some upside with his game.

is one of the most dynamic and athletic players in District 10 and a key piece if the Ramblers are going to make a state playoff run. Thompson has taken his game to another level this season, establishing himself as a legitimate scoring threat at all three levels. His combination of size, speed, and skill makes him an extremely tough match-up for Knoch. Thompson thrives in transition by using his elite speed and agility to beat defenders down the floor and finish above the rim. His vertical leap and body control enable him to get off tough shots in contested situations, making him a reliable go-to scorer. Thompson has a strong pull-up jumper that makes him just as dangerous from midrange. His underrated court vision and passing ability allow him to create for his teammates, making him a well-rounded offensive weapon. Whether he’s attacking the rim, knocking down outside shots, or facilitating for others, he always finds a way to make an impact. Coming off a dominant 27-point performance in the District 10 championship win over Sharon, Thompson is peaking at the right time. Against Knoch, his ability to play inside-out and run the floor will be a major factor. If he gets going early, Prep could run the score up on Knoch. Expect Thompson to be a major difference-maker in this first-round match-up.

Thompson showed great balance in his game. He did a really good job of sharing the sugar and getting the ball to his open teammates. He was in al the right spots to get rebounds. He did a good job running the floor as a trailer. Thompson is a sneaky athlete. He scored frequently inside the 2pt line. He plays with an active motor. He added 17 points and got to the foul line often. I would like to see Thompson become more consistent from behind the arc.
