Expert Analysis
Tony Roe | Prep Hoops Scout
A dynamic scorer who thrives when he’s playing downhill and attacking the bucket, DeVries averaged nearly 21 points a game as a junior. He’s a scorer first and foremost, looking to get to his own shot, and his jumper is improving, which will make him even more dangerous as an offensive weapon for the Tigers.

DeVries was one of the top scorers in 2A last season, averaging 20.9 points a game for the Tigers. A 6-2 guard, he can put up points in bunches, using his size and strength to get to the rim for finishes. He’s excellent at getting to the free-throw line, where he converts at a high rate, adding easy points to his lofty total. If he’s able to become a more consistent perimeter shooter, he could be a really nice pickup for a D3 school.

Like Jeppesen, DeVries is a big-time scorer from a smaller school who will be looking to impress this spring and summer with Impact. He’s a three-level scorer with a smooth stroke off the dribble, but he’s at his best when he’s playing downhill and getting to the rim for finishes.

A high-volume scorer who led the Tigers to the 2A state tournament last season, DeVries put up 15.6 points and 4.1 rebounds a game as a sophomore. He’s a strong wing who is at his best when he’s playing downhill and attacking the rim or getting to the free-throw line. The next step in his development will be adding some more consistency to his jumper.
