Chan proved to be a reliable playmaker at the combo guard position. When Wisconsin Blizzard needed a paint touch or get to the free throw, they could rely on the Hortonville guard to take charge. He was crafty with the ball in his hands and seemed to always have teammates in mind when reaching the paint. Most impressive was his ability to decipher when to score and when to play make.

Max was one of the better shooters I saw on the day, and he was getting it done from beyond the arc and from mid-range. Just a confident player who never looked sped up and was able to get to his spots off the dribble. Smooth and consistent release that remained the same even with a hand in his face contesting, allowing him to hit his shots at a high percentage in the game I saw. One of many All Wisconsin AAU prospects who stood out over the weekend.
