Bloomington High School South is one of those places where you should always look to recruit from. Not only do they routinely turn out college-level talent, but because of how good Coach J.R. Holmes is their guys generally are more ready from day one at the college level. Tierney is an athletic, mobile, 6’8″ center that is good on the rim run and on the roll. He does a good job of catching any pass thrown his way and can quickly elevate to finish. As he continues to get stronger his game will only take off further.

A 6’8” center from Bloomington South, Tierney was one of the most impressive big men that we evaluated on Saturday. He runs the floor hard every time, caught everything thrown his way, and was willing to bang around defensively and on the glass. Tierney stood out the most while finishing from the dunker’s spot. He plays off of drives very well circling under the basket, circling to the front of the rim, or sliding along the baseline. The high-upside big man finished well with both hands throughout the day.

In terms of long term potential, Tierney is a very intriguing prospect. He showed some real flashes throughout the summer with Indiana Elite Team Tradition culminating in a strong showing at the 3SSB Championships in Rock Hill. At 6’8″, Tierney moves around very well for his size. He can run the floor, operate on the roll, and get vertical as a rim protector defensively. As he continues to develop physically and get stronger his game could really take a leap to the next level. Don’t be surprised to see him break into the Top 100 when our next update is released.
