in the sense that the younger players on their team get the headlines but Miller is the most consistent of the bunch. Miller is averaging 15 and 7 and has shown the ability to score the ball from 18 feet and in consistently. He also has the physical tools to be a lockdown defender when he wants to be. He’ll be a steal for a D2/NAIA school.

Miller is the senior leader for a young Newport team. Great size and strength which makes him really good driving the ball and in the mid-post. Because of his physicality, it is hard to guard him because bigs can’t keep up with his speed. Good mid-range jump shooter but can be inconsistent as he steps out to 3pt range. High motor and elite competitor.

Miller is set to have a huge senior season. Colleges are showing more interest as he could be a late steal for any staff at the next level. His strong frame and athleticism immediately makes him college ready. Very effective mid-range scorer and finishing around the basket. Capable 3pt shooter and has the potential to be the best defender in the state as he has the tools to guard every position on the floor. Will have to lead a very talented young Newport team this season.

Marquez’s ranking has been up and down over the course of these rankings but it looks like the big wing is starting to put it together as he heads into his Senior season. Newport has a bunch of young talent but Marquez will need to be a leader for them this season as they are a true dark horse to win the 9th region with their combination of athleticism and skill level. Miller is long and athletic and should be a tough matchup for opposing teams every night out.
