SubscribeHard to believe but the 2023 class is almost finished. Regional tournaments are almost over and there are hundreds of Seniors who already played their final game of high school basketball. Let’s take a look at the best small forwards in the final 2023 rankings. This does not include players in the top ten of the class overall as those have already been covered in another article.
Samons is a long and versatile wing who can shoot well from deep or put the ball on the floor and get into the paint. Rylee has scored over 2,000 points in his career and will likely use his long range shooting to get on the court early at Tennessee Tech next season.
One of Kentucky’s top unsigned Seniors, Marcus is deadly with the ball and attacking downhill. Eaves has the ability to be a microwave scorer in college because he can really heat up in a hurry. Look for the big wing to end up accepting one of his D1 offers before signing day this Spring.
Another unsigned player who is sitting on a D1 offer (from EKU), Jaylen was named 11th region Co-Player of the year and a finalist for Mr Basketball. Davis is long and athletic and has range out long past the college three point line. At 6’5, Davis can play with the ball in his hands or be a catch and shoot wing.
Whitney has been one of the biggest stock boosters in the Commonwealth this season and was awarded with the 4th region player of the year award. Chappelle plays super hard and is active on both ends of the floor. He has the ability to switch multiple positions on defense and can score in multiple ways on offense.
Cumberlands got a steal when Ryan committed to play for them recently. Davidson is an athletic wing with a college ready body that will likely see the court some as a freshman. The 6’4 wing has been overshadowed at times in his high school career because of his 5 star teammate/cousin but he’s a really good player who will make an impact and possibly be an all conference type of player in college.
