They say defense travels and Simpson came into the camp known as a tough nosed pitbull defender. He did nothing to dispell that notion, locking up every ballhandler he encoutered. His offense has improved a lot during the last quarter and he proved that, showing range on his jumper to go along with a good handle. The top 75 player did wonders to improve his stock.

Saw Simpson this weekend, while Silverado was putting a wrap on the Green Valley Christian summer league championship. The defensive stalwart, showed some Sniping ability during the Summer League, putting together a magnificent perormance. If he brings his strap to the event, his two way play could open some eyes.

Simpson AKA “Celly Cel” will definetly make my all nickname team, he’s already a card carrying member of my all pitbull team. The on ball defender, was his usual fearless self, and was one of the fastest players with the ball in his hand from end to end. His value doesn’t always show up in the stat sheet, but between his defense and playmaking he showed why he deserves to rise.

The diminutive PG exudes confidence. A dogged defender, he was a pest whether playing on ball in man, or at the top of the zone for the Skyhawks. His energy wasn’t just limited to what he did on the defensive end, the high energy guard also banged home a couple clutch threes in the game.

Simpson has been a steady under the radar performer for the Skyhawks this season. He does a little bit of everything for Silverado, including defend and handle in the backcourt. The fiesty pit bull style PG is capable of having a scoring impact, as he proved with 5 double digit games on the season, including a season high of 20 against Western.
