He’s up to 23.1 points on the season and has been a go-to guy that the teams feel comfortable with the ball in his hands. He lights it up from deep, shooting over 40% on high volume, he finishes well inside with his longer frame, and gets to where he wants on the floor. He’s used to seeing different looks that defenses give him and adapts in real time. He’s exploded with a 45-point game, has finished in double figures in every game, and has affected the game on both ends of the floor. He’s a riser who we will surely see more of as we enjoy this Silver Creek squad. 

Luke Schmeeckle is making the absolute most out of his senior season, and it shows up most on the stat sheet. From averaging 15.7 points per game his junior year, to now a scorching hot 24.1 points per game, it’s scary how good Schmeeckle becomes when he’s in a flow state. Currently ranked as a top 10 shooting guard in his class, don’t be surprised if Schmeeckle continues to climb the ladder and establish himself to college coaches.

Putting up fairly efficient numbers for a Silver Creek program formerly loaded with seniors, he is set for a big season at the only remaining rotation player from last year’s 20-5 run. A well rounded shotmaker who can score from all three levels, his offensive production within that team’s context is uncommon to say the least. Taking right around 10 shot attempts per game last season, he will be a name whose shot diet will take a significant uptick given these roster changes. 

Following an impressive sophomore season, Schmeeckle has proven himself as one of the state’s best shotmakers from all three levels. Getting more comfortable creating space for shot attempts behind the arc, he could be among the most productive scorers in the class in the near future. This all follows an incredible season for Silver Creek, with their 20-5 record and a Sweet 16 appearance.
