When SSA Elite needed scores in this game they went to Lincoln.

Lincoln had a tough day early missing his first five shots but like an experienced veteran shooter does, Elliott bounced back by finding his way to the foul line for points and then finding higher percentage scores inside the arc. Once that comfort was there, Lincoln moved to the arc and knocked out two threes pushing his way to a team high dozen points for the game.

We have talked about Lincoln as a shooter all month and this weekend there was more evidence, and the form and technique are top notch plus the young man defends. The term “3 and D Guy” fits him perfectly.

Lincoln knocked out 14 or 15 threes in the four bracket play games averaging double figures for the event champion, SSA Hoops Black. We spoken about Lincoln a lot recently and its because this wing can shoot it and colleges are all about finding shooters in the modern game.

The SSA twitter mentioned that Lincoln has made 27 threes over the past two live period weekends meaning 27 threes over seven or eight games which is a very impressive total. Elliott shot a very impressive 45 percent from the arc and was a key factor in big games making five threes in the quarters and another three triples in the semi-finals. Lincoln was another key factor in SSA Black winning the 17u division.

What has really caught my attention is how Lincoln sets up his attempt using screens and moving off the ball. He gets his hands up and feet set quickly because his footwork around the screen is really good. This allows for a quicker release on the shot and the defense being in a bad spot trying to contest. Lincoln also gets solid lift on the shot and at a listed 6’5, getting lift on a jumper makes it tough to defend.

We might have saved the best player of this list for last. Lincoln is a 6’3, 175 pound shooting guard with length that competes with SSA Hoops. Right now Lincoln has been scorching as a shooter knocking out threes at a 50 percent clip and he will be in Omaha this weekend for coaches to see.

Lincoln recently picked up offers from Central College and Ottawa after visits and more schools are tracking him each weekend. The beauty of Lincoln is the court IQ as he knows how to set up shots within the halfcourt offense and is also a very good team defender for his team. Keep an eye out on Lincoln having a big July.
