How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?
I try to use my athleticism to control the tempo of the game. I can speed up or slow down a game based on what is best for my squad. I can play "downhill" to take advantage of athletic advantages. But, I can also play a very regimented style to slow the pace to get good shots for my teammates. I pride myself on taking care of the ball and limiting turnovers.
Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?
Many people would describe me as a "quiet" leader. However, I find that my personality is more reserved than quiet. I don't use loud volume, but I definitely understand the importance of communication on the court and demanding the most from my teammates. I prefer to lead my team by being an example of making good decisions and working hard.
Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?
I am a part of the student council at my high school. I am an active member of youth group at my church, St. John Evangelical Lutheran in Reedsburg, Wisconsin.
I have been on the high honor roll every semester possible.
What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?
My family has a strong commitment to the community, and as long as I can remember I have been a part of community events. We help organize Operation Christmas Child in our town. We serve at the local steak feeds and fundraiser breakfasts to help organizations around town. I have learned to live a life that is a good example for others, and give back any time it is possible.
Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.
My life is blessed, and I feel grateful for those blessings everyday: family, friends, health, and opportunity. In sports, I have been able to take advantage of some of that opportunity. However, I have also been a bit of a "late bloomer" physically. I have used that as motivation to concentrate on skills and techniques. And now, as I "catch up," I look to make that one of my advantages.
What type of college are you looking for?
I prefer an academically rigorous university. I find my intellectual gifts in math, science, and analytics. At this early stage, I am pondering a career in the health, medical, or paramedical areas. I would like a college that has strong science programs, and that would be considered academically competitive.

Part of a very talented 2028 class at Reedsburg, Benish is a versatile player who can do a bit of everything on the court. He definitely can run an offense with his ball skills and decision making, but he contributes in other ways as well. His physical strength allows him to defend and rebound at a good level for a guard, while he also has good range on his jump shot. Benish has a chance to be a mainstay in the Beavers’ lineup the next three seasons due to his overall skill set and toughness.
