, in the one game I watched, looked like he picked up right where he left off last summer. He is bigger and visibly stronger than last year, using his mature frame to create space against taller opponents. His game is simple and translates to any gym: box out, rebound, play off two feet, use fakes to frustrate eager shot-blockers, and just play hard. He is a workhorse under the goal, and his touch around the rim is even better than last summer. He works in the paint but has mid-range and three-point capability. He takes what the game gives him and does it on both sides of the ball.

Right now Landon is leading Anacoco is points and assists, but the overall impact is winning. He is built like a post player, but handles the ball like a PG, shoots like an SG and works in the post like a PF. That is pretty OK for a freshman. His team is currently ranked #23 in the state with a record of 22-3 and two of those losses coming to top 5A schools. Pencil Landon in for a top spot in the rankings and a bright future. College coaches will line up for this versatile big man, that just might keep on growing.

and immediately told him he looks even bigger in person. He’s got a Varsity-ready frame and seems destined to be every coach’s dream. He plays with his head up, always signaling a willingness to facilitate and make smart decisions. He’s not afraid to step out and guard smaller, quicker players, showing versatility on defense.
His three-point shot is developing, and he’s relentless on the boards—cleaning up everything that comes off the rim. He’s a strong finisher but makes and misses don’t define his game. This kid is a workhorse, poised to lead Anacoco with grit and determination. Whether or not he puts up big numbers, his impact lives between the stats. He truly does it all, and that is why he is our Freshman ID Showcase MVP.
