Reynald has been a standout both Gahanna games I’ve caught, having a breakout senior season. One of the fastest players in the state in the open court, Reynald is tough to keep pace with in transition. Able to finish with either hand at the rim, Reynald is a blur getting to the rim. Also a capable shooter from 3-point range, Reynald made the defense pay when they went under the ball screen. The cherry on top for Reynald’s performance was a breakaway slam dunk to help Gahanna pull away with an impressive victory.

The opening week of the season, few players caught my eye quite like Reynald. He won player of the week on my podcast and showed why he’s one of the top guards in central Ohio. Lightning quick with the ball in his hands and capable of filling it up from downtown, Reynald has been the engine that’s been driving a strong start to the season for Gahanna. It’ll be interesting to see where he recruitment goes if he continues to build off this early season momentum.

Gahanna was another team that opened some eyes with their balanced scoring and unselfish play. Reynald was the top individual performer on their team with his quickness and athleticism in the open court. Tough to stay in front of, Reynald was able to get into the paint when he wanted to and that opened a lot of things up offensively for himself and his teammates. Also knocking down some open jumpers, Reynold showed a diverse scoring game. Expect Reynald to be one of the top point guards in central Ohio this winter.

Reynold from an eye test isn’t going to wow you but with his play, he will. He is a two-level scorer that will knock down threes or get all the way to the rim. He picks and chooses very well when to attack the rim or make you pay from beyond the arc. A sneaky athletic kid that can really jump high which creates a lot more of an opportunity to put the ball in the basket against bigger guys. He showed very impressive finishing ability and body control. He is also unconscious from beyond the arc so it is kind of a pick your poison with him.

Wearing the same jersey as Gahanna legend Sean Jones, Reynald has been a steady force from the point guard spot for a new look Gahanna squad. I like the quickness of Reynald, his ability to get downhill and make plays for his teammates. Reynald has been one of the more productive guards in the OCC this season and should be even better as a senior.

Wearing the Gahanna number 5 jersey right after Sean Jones, Reynald has done a good job as the new floor general for Gahanna. I was impressed with how quick he was with the ball in his hands and his ability to get into the lane off the bounce. If Reynald can become more of a threat from behind the 3-point line, he could see his scoring average skyrocket next winter. Gahanna has an intriguing team with a lot of pieces capable of beating you on any given night.
