Bridgeport Prep took a tough loss to defending EYBL Scholastic champion Montverde Academy (FL) but Worthy was sure to make his presence felt throughout the game nonetheless. Wiry strong with good size and explosive athleticism, the Georgia native was up to the task of contending with Montverde’s cadre of high-major athletes. He showed great intensity and versatility on the defensive end while also flashing improved touch as a shooter both off the catch from the perimeter and in self-created situations in the midrange. Worthy turned down a slew of football offers to take a post-grad year in pursuit of his basketball goals and D1 programs in the Northeast would be wise to take notice before much longer.
