He’s got the length, size, and athleticism that make him a big-time prospect with a ton of upside. What stands out most with McDonald is his ability to occupy the paint with rebounding and second-chance buckets. McDonald is active in the paint on both sides of the floor and is an elite shot blocker and rim protector. He’s a high-motor prospect who plays with a ton of energy when he’s on the floor. The next step McDonald needs to take is improving his outside shot. I believe he’ll use his AAU season with the NC Spartans to do it.
