A solid body with an expanding skill set that will improve going forward. Standing 6’5 he made good use of his body at this event as a reliable scorer in the paint. He showed patience, footwork, finished with some touch. He rebounds, can handle and pass in open court/transition, not fast but body control using crossovers and other moves going forward. He got multiple rebounds, showed he could take and make open 3’s. He’ll get minutes on the Varsity at Modesto Christian

Abreu is a physical and skilled forward that runs the floor well in the open court, controls the boards on both ends, asserts himself in the interior, and has great touch on shots around the basket. Abreu had 6 points in the Clippers semifinal win, but really stepped it up big time in the championship game, especially in the second half, where he would score 11 of his 13 points after the break, which were huge points to help his team hold its lead and win the championship of the Rising Stars Showcase over Team Thunder. Abreu has solid footwork and moves to create space in tight windows, using the pump-fake, up-and-under, spin-move, or muscle through contact to score in close proximity to the basket, outlets the ball quickly to get up the court, gets ahead of the defense for easy catch and score opportunities in transition, and can open up the floor with enough accuracy on the jumper from the mid-post.
