Expert Analysis
Brian Flinn | Prep Hoops Scout
While it is still early, Jean-Philippe looks ready to make an immediate impact for Rivers this season. A quick and crafty lead guard, his biggest strength is his ability to create offense for both himself and his teammates. He has a quick first step and makes good decisions once he gains an advantage. Jean-Philippe combines good speed with deceptive strength when the ball is in his hands.

Jean-Philippe is one of the most physically-developed guards in this class and has as translatable a game to the ISL as I can think of. The 5-foot-11 guard is undersized, but he’s extremely strong and sturdy and will probably enter the rotation as one of Rivers’ better perimeter defenders. He has a knack for sliding his feet and beating the defender to the spot, and he can also get steals with his active hands. Offensively, he’s a consistent outside shooter despite some odd rotation on his shot, and he can finish at the rim with the best of them. Jean-Philippe is going to shock the ISL with how ready he is to play right away, and I could see him giving scholarship prospects absolute hell on the defensive end.
