leads the way in a lot of categories at Olympia, but right behind him is Zapata. Zapata has a really well-rounded approach, can play on the ball and off, and really epitomizes the Bear’s style of play with his tough defense and nose for scoring around the paint. Olympia should be a contender in the 4A this season and Zapata is one of the guys they can count on for consistency on a nightly basis.

Zapata is highly underrated at his current ranking and will be a key guy for the Bears this season. He’s a good athlete, a solid slasher, and can shoot a bit, but his main strength is his ability to find space and play on balance while attacking from different areas. He was splitting defenders and showing some real strength and late burst on drives to finish in high-traffic areas on Saturday, and should be one of their relied upon seniors this winter.

Zapata is just a kid who gets it done. Olympia didn’t bring a ton of size to the floor last season but they got it done with quick, decisive guards. Zapata fits that mold to a T and he brings toughness inside to fight for extra possessions and finish in traffic. He also showed great touch around the paint with the short to midrange jumpers.
