About Josh
Expert Analysis
Max Wagner | Prep Hoops Scout
Josh helped spark the MN Crossfire offense in what was a pretty low scoring matchup against Minnesota Hurricanes. The SLP guard showed quick burst on the ball to beat defenders off the dribble and get to his spots. Could either pull-up for a mid-range jumper, or get into the lane and finish over the top with a floater. He’s someone that can play fast while also staying under control. His play in the second half was key in the opening round win for his team.

He is running with MN Crossfire 17U Thompson. Josh is exactly what a coach needs from a point guard. He handles the ball well, gets the offense moving, and is unselfish with the rock. Rickord can penetrate and drop dimes or cash in the open triple when needed.

Josh had a nice showing on Saturday in a game against Team Herro that went down to the wire. He did a nice job of keeping the ball moving in the half-court, and was able to locate his shooters with well-timed passes on multiple occasions. Also posed a shooting threat on his own, knocking down a handful of shots throughout the game. When his team needed a bucket, Josh wasn’t afraid to put the ball on the floor and use his change of speed to create a scoring opportunity.
