Expert Analysis
Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Bracey is a ridiculously intriguing prospect whose potential is turning into production as we speak. The 6-foot-5 wing is insanely long and does a good job using his arms to his advantage; he glides for easy finishes at the hoop and he shoots high above his head for easy mid range shots over the defense. He doesn’t have a glaring offensive weakness and should only improve from both the perimeter and the paint with added strength. Bracey also took two charges and provided rim protection for King School all game. He could be a scholarship or D3 prospect, but not sure what his recruitment is like.

Bracey, out of the King School in Connecticut, checks in at #33 among the small forwards and #156 overall. Bracey has a nice combination of positional size, plus length, and good athleticism; all of which allows him to operate as an inside-out threat on the offensive end of the floor. He does a nice job of attacking off the bounce, using his length to finish at the rim. He can play with his back to the basket against smaller defenders and has a variety of finishing moves from that spot. He’s ultra versatile on the defensive end of the floor and can really rebound it when he’s locked in. He’s another prospect that’ll play in college, whether that be at the Division III or II level has yet to be decided.

He has great size at 6’6” and a smooth, fluid jump shot from beyond the arc. An unselfish player who consistently operates within the flow of the game, he never forces bad shots or disrupts the rhythm of the offense. Defensively, he leverages his athleticism to block shots and stay in front of ballhandlers.

Bracey does a nice job getting to different spots on the attack. He has nice touch around the bucket and is effecting getting fouls drawn on him so he can have chances at the foul line. His long arms allow him to collect rebounds with ease. He has a nice blend of size and length that allow him to cover a slew of different positions. He plays an unselfish brand of basketball and has no issues with getting his teammates involved. Bracey is a prospect who should be on the radar of scholarship programs.

Bracey, a member of the 17U Made Hoops squad, is an athletic wing out of the King School in Connecticut. Consider the best attributes of a big playmaking guard and a versatile 3-and-D wing and that’s basically the prospect profile for Bracey. He’s an above the rim finisher, can consistently knock down shots in catch and shoot situations, and shows an increasing comfort in making plays off the bounce. He breaks defenders down in isolation situations, can operate as a screener in ball screens, and is comfortable making decisions in DHO situations. Defensively, he has the length, positional size, and athleticism needed to guard four postions on the floor, making him one of the most versatile defenders in the region.

Bracey caught the eye on Friday night and intrigued again with his play on Saturday, continuing to play his way onto scholarship radars early on this spring. A smooth wing guard with standout length and positional size, he certainly looks the part of a scholarship-level guard and shows signs of developing the requisite skillset to match. He intrigues at his size with comfortable ball skills on the attack, including initiating the offense for stretches. The Waterbury native also showcases a smooth stroke to the arc with flashes of comfort in the pullup game. With high-level pedigree (Bracey’s dad played at SMU), place the budding guard squarely on breakout watch heading into the summer.
