Walsh is a throwback big man that Chaminade will use a variety of ways to help them win. He sets hard screens, scores around the basket, he gets offensive put backs and will help protect the paint. This Senior will add some physicality which the Flyers need and most teams in their league don’t have. His upside this season is huge, he’s becoming an interesting prospect and we believe a smart college program will add and not regret it.

Walsh has had a really strong fall for the Flyers and it looks like they definitely their big man for this upcoming season. His motor is improving, he’s got a nice touch around the basket, he can pass out of the post and his interior defense is getting better.

One of the more pleasant surprises of the entire weekend, Walsh is almost completely off the radar but showed real promise as a true ‘5’ with a translatable set of skills and tools. He uses his size and natural strength to fight for good position in the post where he’s a reliable finisher over his left shoulder. Walsh has soft hands and shows nice natural feel as a passer. While not very explosive vertically, he’s an effective area rebounder and changes ends comfortably. He’s not a stretch ‘5’ but has a clean free throw stroke with flashes of midrange shooting mixed in. Walsh is currently being recruited mostly as a pitcher but is open to basketball in college and could pay major dividends for almost any small-college program that invests in his development.
