Exciting Nassau Bigs

Davids is arguably the top local big in 2027 and he is expected to have a very strong season for Long Island Lutheran. He can score around the rim, finish lobs, block shots and dominate the boards. His footwork is improving, he's extended his range, he's a great cutter and a problem for opponents in transition. The Senior should see his recruitment start to take off in the next few months as he looks solidify the Crusaders front court this year. Walsh is a throwback big man that Chaminade will use a variety of ways to help them win. He sets hard screens, scores around the basket, he gets offensive put backs and will help protect the paint. This Senior will add some physicality which the Flyers need and most teams in their league don't have. His upside this season is huge, he's becoming an interesting prospect and we believe a smart college program will add and not regret it. Sheard has been turning heads all summer and fall with his combination of size and athleticism. He a terrific help defender, has natural timing blocking shots, he gets off his feet quick and brings a lot of energy. His teammates will throw him lobs, he moves well of the ball, he relocates on drives and consistently shows his hands. We expect him to have a massive break out season and don't be surprised if he turns himself into one of the top prospects in the state. Lang is a multi sport athlete for Dom's who's expected to have a big year. He's a super competitive Forward that block shots, controls the glass and can score around the basket. His touch is impressive, he can pass out of the post, he plays through contact and should log heavy minutes. This team will lean on Lang a ton and he should be the in the CHSAA Player of the Year mix. Mitchell is an athletic Forward for Baldwin that could be in line for a breakout season. His Head Coach Darius Burton will expect him to be an enforcer, a leader, their top rebounder and one of more productive bigs in Section VIII. He will need to be consistent, talk on defense, work hard to get open and provide toughness in order for the Bruins to go all the way. Terwillinger had an excellent Junior year and has already established himself as one of the best defensive Forwards on Long Island. He plays hard, has an elite motor, he's unselfish and always seems to make the right play. His offense needs a little work but his effort, rebounding, heart and winning attitude is what we like the most.
