About Johnny
Expert Analysis
Aaron Proia | Prep Hoops Scout
-Lazaridis impressed in several different areas as he showed his value as a shooter, dug down effectively on bigs to disrupt offensive flow, came up with some key defensive rebounds, and moved the ball well around the horn to generate good looks for his team. His shot prep and footwork led to a big offensive eruption late in the game that almost brought his team all the way back. Lazaridis hit a 3 to make it a 4 point game with 30 seconds left after hitting a wing 3 to cut it to 6, then knocked down a tough turn-around corner 3 with no dribbles to cut it to 4 again with just under 10 seconds remaining. Loved the intangibles that he brings to the game as an unselfish teammate that showed a willingness to win 50/50 balls that shifted the momentum of the game.

Not just a perimeter shot maker, Lazaridis continues to show impressive growth as a shot creator and overall offensive threat. He is capable of making shots both off the catch and off the dribble, giving him the versatility to score in a variety of situations. A high IQ player with a strong feel for the game, Lazaridis does an excellent job attacking closeouts and getting downhill on straight line drives to the basket. Around the rim, he is a creative finisher who uses touch, body control, and craftiness to convert difficult scoring opportunities. A high-academic prospect with skill, feel, and offensive versatility, Lazaridis is a player college coaches should prioritize evaluating this summer.

Lazaridis put together a strong live period showing in Dallas, highlighted by a 20-point game while shooting 71 percent from three. He brings good size at the guard position along with poise and confidence offensively. His shooting touch stands out immediately, but he also uses his length well and continues developing as a three-level scorer. As he adds strength physically, his upside keeps climbing.
