P32 League Notebook: Talented Guards College Coaches Need to Know

The P32 League has done a great job since April providing a competitive stage for prospects to prove themselves against quality opposition. These Florida guards took advantage of the opportunity, putting together productive performances that should have college coaches taking a closer look heading into the high school season.    Warren has been one of the top offensive performers throughout P32 League play. Averaging 18.5 points, six assists, four rebounds, and two steals while shooting 48 percent from three, the 6-4 point guard has consistently filled the stat sheet for the Florida Baylin Hawks. His size creates matchup problems, and he combines that with the ability to create separation off the dribble, knock down perimeter shots, and finish through contact at the rim. Warren has also shown improved patience as a playmaker, making the right read instead of forcing difficult shots. With his production and well-rounded offensive game, he continues positioning himself for a major recruiting jump.     Lazaridis continues proving he's much more than a perimeter shooter. His footwork, balance, and preparation consistently allow him to generate quality looks from beyond the arc, but his impact stretches well beyond scoring. He competes defensively, rebounds his position, and consistently makes smart decisions with the basketball. Whether moving without the ball or making the extra pass, Lazaridis understands how to contribute to winning basketball. His complete skill set and high basketball IQ continue making him one of the more dependable guards to watch this offseason.     Perkins enters his senior season with the confidence as a dangerous scorer. He has not fear to let shots fly and has consistently backed that confidence up with efficient perimeter shooting as a small guard. Defenders struggle to contest his quick release, and he does an excellent job creating contact when attacking closeouts, leading to valuable trips to the free-throw line. His ability to score in bunches makes him a constant offensive threat, and another productive offseason suggests he could be in for his best season yet.     Morrell continues standing out because of how well he controls the game. Has steadily progressed his overall output each offseason. He values every possession, keeps teammates involved, and consistently organizes the offense with poise. His vision has made him one of the better assist producers in his class, while his perimeter shooting prevents defenders from simply playing the pass. Morrell's calm approach and decision-making allow him to impact games without forcing the action, making him a steady floor general capable of elevating everyone around him.     Henson helped lead his team into the 32-team championship bracket while continuing the steady development that's become evident over the last few years. The versatile combo guard shoots confidently from the perimeter, attacks open driving lanes, and uses his length to create problems defensively. His willingness to compete on both ends and growing confidence with the basketball continue expanding his overall game. As he becomes stronger physically, Henson has all the tools to continue climbing recruiting boards.     Playing up in the 17U division with no fear, Whisler handled the challenge well in St. Louis. Averaging 10 points, three assists, two rebounds, two steals, and remarkably zero turnovers, the rising junior guard has displayed solid maturity and growth this offseason. He shoots confidently from deep, attacks downhill with purpose, and consistently makes the correct read under pressure. Whisler's poise, efficiency, and all-around production continue making him one of Florida's prospects to watch.     Sheppard continues to impress with a polished all-around game that stands out for his age. He handles defensive pressure with confidence, keeps defenders off balance with a tight handle, and consistently creates driving lanes off the bounce. Once he gets downhill, he finishes through contact while also showing the ability to rise up and knock down jumpers from the perimeter. On the defensive end, he competes with energy, embraces tough assignments, and impacts possessions with his activity. His blend of poise, shot-making, and two-way competitiveness is what college coaches can build with.
