Whysong was on a mission all season long for the Hurricanes. Johnathan proved everyone wrong and took home Class 3A State Player of the Year honors after winning a State Championship.

Johnathan scored 26 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in the victory over Crestwood HS to help claim the Hurricanes first state title. Whysong the Region Player of the Year averaged 18.6 ppg, 10.2 rebounds and 2.8 assists this past season.

Whysong made a strong impression on Prep Hoops back in June in the SCBCA Team Camp in Rock Hill. He lived up to the billing again this weekend with his play on the floor.

Johnathan a future Stock-Riser along with a few others in this article is a very deceptive athlete. Whysong almost looks like he has grown some more since seeing him last. He will be worth a follow this season in the Upstate on the hurricanes roster for Head Coach Fran Campbell.
