Typically at showcase type events it isn’t defensive impact that stands out. However, Rauch was all over the place defensively blocking shots and rebounding outside of his area at the Marian University Elite Camp on Saturday. The athletic 6’8″ forward/center also had success on the offensive end scoring via putbacks and short right-hand drives. There is a lot of upside to work with in this Class of 2028 prospect.

Intriguing big man out of Franklin County that has shown flashes of his offensive skill. Like some of the other Forwards on this list, Jerod Rauch Jerod Rauch 6'8" | C Franklin County | 2028 State IN is another nice catch and shoot threat from the perimeter. Nice post up game with a soft touch over his left shoulder. Plays with a high motor and attacks the glass on both ends. Defensive anchor in the paint that protects the rim by staying vertical and being a physical presence. Good screener and off ball cutter with the ability to finish cuts at the rim through contact.

A big man that is just scratching the surface of how good he can be. A mobile big man that has shown the ability to play inside-out offensively. Good shooting stroke from the perimeter that is a legit threat to knock down open catch and shoot 3’s. Improving post game. Good hands that has shown a soft touch over his left shoulder. Tons of defensive upside with his length and mobility. Aggressive rebounder on the defensive end that as he gets stronger will only continue to improve.

The first thing you notice about Rauch is his size. He is a legitimate 6’8″ with a decently strong build for his age. Saturday at the Run N Slam was one of our first real opportunities to see him play live and he immediately caught our attention with his activity level on the offensive boards and his soft finishing touch at the rim. He is a high-upside Class of 2028 big man to track for Progeny UAA 16u.

Another young big man in Indiana’s Class of 2028, Rauch has a ton of upside potential. He already runs the floor well given his size and age and can elevate to play at/above the rim. The 6’8″ center from Franklin County High School got his feet wet in some varsity action as a freshman, but has really shown his potential through the spring on the grassroots circuit. Definitely one worth following as he fine tunes his skill set and gets more comfortable on the low block.
