blended interior scoring and defensive play making on the floor. Using his tight handle, he was driving to the glass and finishing strong. He also used his length and intensity to hound ball handlers and play the passing lanes well.

A 6’4″ off guard for the Kent School, Carter proved to be a tough shot maker, crafty playmaker, and high level on-ball defender this weekend. He’s a bigger guard with great length and plus athleticism, proving to be really tough to guard when he gets downhill with the ball in his hands. He has some wiggle as a creator, finds teammates in scoring spots when he gets a piece of the paint off the bounce, and makes good decisions with the ball in his hands. He cuts hard to the rim, finishes with authority in space, and knocks down contested jumpers in the mid-range. Defensively, he covers ground quickly, can guard up and down a position, and makes ton of plays in passing lanes with his length. He’s a joy to watch play, makes an impact on winning, and could eventually play at the scholarship level.

Carter is a wiry mile long guard who does a good job squirreling his way to different spots on the floor. He takes what the defense gives him and has an expanded floor game. He does a good job finishing through contact. His athleticism flashes on the defensive end and allows him to come up with steals. Carter has a quick first step which allows him to blow by opponents.

has been impressive every time I get to see him, and it was more of the same in this game. Acting as the lead ball handler for Kent, he was getting to the rim whenever he wanted by splitting the defense with his burst of speed and soft touch off the glass. He took on hard contact and was consistently getting to the free-throw line. I also appreciated his coast-to-coast scoring ability, play-making on the move, and defensive pressure guarding on the ball. Even with his jump shot not falling, he was still making an impact and singlehandedly brought Kent back into the game in the second half.

Carter, who reclassified upon transferring to the Kent School, makes his first appearance in the rankings after coming from New York. A naturally instinctive guard, Carter has good positional size, great length, and impressive burst. He’s a high level defender right now, capable of guarding the ball on the perimeter or causing havoc in passing lanes. He utilizes his athleticism to turn defense into quick offense and is a blur in transition. He has some playmaking ability, particularly in the open floor, but thrives mostly as a slasher. He does a good job of getting downhill off the bounce and is capable of finishing through contact at the rim. As he gets stronger and fills out his frame, his ceiling should only continue to rise. He’s a definite college prospect that should greatly benefit from the multiple years at Kent.

is an explosive shooting guard who pops from a skill and athletic standpoint. He has top-tier burst and speed and can get by anyone he wants to in the half-court, finishing over the top of defenders and throwing down nasty posterizing jams. Carter’s skill as a scorer is also impressive, being comfortable handling the ball and knocking down shots off the dribble from mid-range and three. He isn’t afraid to pull up either and has legitimate three-level scoring potential as a primary or secondary option. Carter also has smart instincts defensively, moving his feet guarding the perimeter, and making steals with good anticipation. You don’t see this combination often in a prospect, which should make him, a very sought-after target among coaches and programs soon.

The three and D prospect had another great season for the Cougars which included over 50 triples. He is lethal from the corner, plays great on ball defense, knows where to sit in the help and can create his own shot. We always compare his game to Danny Green the way he can impact beyond the arc and defensively but he did how us a more developed offensive skillset. His development is definitely one to watch as he might be one of our favorite CHSAA prospects next year and if he perfect the three who knows how high of a level he could end up at.
