It’ll be interesting to see the role that Hyman is able to carve out for the talented Bishop McNamara group. What he brings that others don’t at this point is pure size around 6’8″-6’9″ with a burley build to withstand physicality inside. He’s still coming into his own as a player overall, but showed some spurts of optimism this summer with New World. Impacting the game with consistency on the offensive end will be a work in progress, but if he’s able to act as an anchor around the rim, take up space to eliminate driving lanes/passing windows and close down the glass, he’ll earn a nice role and look to build off his WCAC Honorable Mention season with Ryken in 2025-26.

-More prospect than player right now, there were still some encouraging flashes from the low post prospect throughout his minutes against St. Mary’s. Hyman scored with the right-handed post hook midway through the 1H then caught and finished dumpoff passes in traffic around the rim to convert for his team. Want to see him communicate more often and loudly on the back line of the defense to give his teammates consistent direction to defend ball screens and bump cutters both on the perimeter in the paint. But there is a ton of upside to like here.

Arguably one of the most intriguing new faces I have watch this season, Hyman is definitely a name for college coaches to know. He’s long, fluid, big and displays a reliable interior presence on both ends of the floor. Hyman excels at finishing around the basket, both in transition and the half-court, and making his presence felt on the glass. He’s a useful rebounder (Averaging 5 rebounds a game) in a reserve role. Expect his stock to continue to rise.
