Adrian earned a 73-57 win against Columbia Central. If you’ve been watching, it’s no surprise that J5 went off in the win. He’s been doing it and did it again. Francis finished with 27 points. He also added 9 rebounds and 3 steals to his stat line.

has been hitting 3’s for a long time now. This is sort of a cumulative mention. He crossed the 1000 point marker in a 75-58 win against Pinckney last night. Francis becomes just the fifth player in school history to reach that mark. He scored 35 points in the game, with the jumper from beyond the arc accounting for some of that total.

We’ll stick to the game mentioned above as Francis leads Adrian against his summer teammate at Williamston as mentioned above. I’ve been preaching about Francis for years and he’s making me look way smarter than I am this season. He’s proven that he’s an elite scorer and improved defender.

Jaxson “J5” Francis started out his season making a statement. I had him with roughly 28 points in the game, but have seen some claim as high as 31. He simply controlled the game against Bedford. Francis connected on multiple triples, going as deep as a few feet beyond the arc. But he wasn’t just a shooter. Francis forced a couple turnovers and turned at least 1 into instant offense on the other end.

Francis ushered in a new era of Adrian basketball in style. He showed that he’s more than ready to take over the scoring load from the departed Stevie Elam. Francis finished the win against Bedford with 28 total points. He scored from beyond the arc, in transition and from the free throw line.

J5 was at it again for the Maples yesterday. Two weeks ago he was hitting 3’s all over the arc. This week, he was in attack mode off the dribble and drawing foul after foul. Francis successfully applied ball pressure, forcing his man to turn away from the basket and ultimately turn the ball over.

Francis was the star of the show at the Jackson College Fall League. He finished the game that I watched with 42 points. Although I reminded him that it was 1 point less than he scored in a game in Chicago this summer. All kidding aside, he showed a very complete game in Jackson. Francis finished that game with the huge point total, but also added much more. He drew 6 fouls, had 7 assists, and stole the ball 6 times. Francis did all of this while turning the ball over just 1 time.

isn’t just a shooter anymore!! If you saw him play this spring or summer, you know that he’s now a full blown BASKETBALL PLAYER. Francis AVERAGED about 4 steals a game. And he didn’t just create turnovers, but also turned them into instant offense.

Francis showed a whole new game this summer, and did it playing a tough schedule the featured Prep Hoops, MADE Hoops and NY2LA events. He can still score. I mean, he averaged about 39 a game at NY2LA in Chicago. But he also led the team in steals and was often tasked with guarding the other team’s top scoring threat.

Francis has been on a heater and that didn’t slow down a bit over the weekend. In his last 6 games Francis is averaging just under 29 points per game. And it’s not because he’s been shot heavy. He’s actually scored a lot in transition and from turning defense into offense. Francis has to be on some radars at this point.
