Thompson was a playmaker in motion all weekend, showing off slick handles, sharp instincts and nonstop aggression. He used his dribble to create space and keep defenders guessing, then exploded into the lane when openings appeared. His cuts were timed perfectly, slipping into gaps for easy scoring chances and keeping the defense on edge. Once he got downhill, he attacked hard with confidence and purpose, putting pressure on the rim every trip. What tied it all together was his vision, spotting teammates and delivering smart passes when help defenders collapsed. Thompson’s blend of skill, speed and feel made him a constant problem

Jarell was one of the top bucket getters I’ve seen this weekend. The 5’10” guard may be undersized, but he makes up for it with his quickness and difficult shot making. He could connect on shots off the dribble from the perimeter, as well as work inside for floaters, showing off his touch. Thompson was at his best when playing fast and going to work in isolation situations.

imposed his will yesterday as he was slicing and dicing through defenses to get buckets. Thompson’s ability to change pace is what separates him from other guards. Distributing the rock isn’t a problem for Thompson either, as he consistently knows when to pass to the open man.
