Fitzpatrick, a senior forward out of Cheverus High School, is one of the top post prospects in the southern part of the state. He uses his strength to his advantage in the paint, showing a nose for the ball as a two-way rebounder, and has the ability to play with patience in the post as a scorer. Offensively, he moves well without the ball, is an instinctive cutter, and can pass out of the post when a double comes. Defensively, he has a good feel for rotations and how to keep opponents out of their scoring spots.

Fitzpatrick is a heck of an athlete. He’s 6-foot-5 and VERY strong, so he’s quite difficult to stop once he gets a head of steam going to the hoop; players bounce off of him like it’s nothing. He also has a nice looking outside shot that he can hit with solid consistency, though some better ball handling skills would certainly improve his ability to get it off. He’ll find a D3 fit and will make his coach happy with his toughness and team-first mindset.

While taking on ball-handling duties, he took his defenders to the post, faking and finishing at the rim with precision and accuracy. He made great reads, found cutters, and kept the ball moving like a hot potato. His athleticism stood out as well, accelerating with speed quickly, pulling off reverse layups, and grabbing rebounds out of nowhere. His shooting confidence off the catch from three and overall physique looked much improved from my previous viewing and it showed to me that the work is being done behind the scenes. On top of all of that, he was very communicative with his teammates and showed a passion for winning. Fitzpatrick was one of the day’s winners and one of the clear standouts from the Expo.

Jameson Fitzpatrick Jameson Fitzpatrick 6'4" | PF Cheverus | 2026 State New E is an interesting blend of interior presence and off-ball defense in space for a power forward. He knows how to be a roll man and finish well around the basket for easy points. Fitzpatrick is a quick decision-maker in the post with dump-offs to cutters and solid passes out to perimeter shooters. On the defensive end, he has good feet and can defend outside the paint with effectiveness. Fitzpatrick’s frame and length help him protect the inside and deflect shots, while also getting steals and creating turnovers to make winning basketball happen. Even though undersized, his smarts and knowledge of the game make him more effective than you would think at first glance, and should be a player to monitor going forward.
