Washington is another key piece in this championship level Kinston backcourt and he does a great job playing alongside Keyshawn Herring Keyshawn Herring 6'2" | CG Kinston | 2027 State NC as the two have established an incredible chemistry with one another. Washington possesses great body control when attacking and that allows him to finish in traffic at a very high rate. He’s got great foot speed, makes good decisions off of his paint touches, and provides a natural energy to this group. The vision, speed, and flare that Washington possesses gives himself and teammates a lot of confidence in every matchup. You can tell he’s a guy people love to play with and just genuinely want on their side. Bonafide next level prospect that should start to garner more attention as his 17u Summer and Senior year progress.

Washington is a guy starting to get real next level attention and it’s easy to see why as he’s an impossible contain downhill guard with a ton of translatable skills to how the game is played at the college level. Washington possesses elite end to end speed that was on full display at the Phenom G3 Showcase. Washington can run a team at a high level and uses the gravity he creates as a driver to create open shots for his teammates on kick outs and/or dump offs at the rim. Washington is dangerous in transition with legit above the rim ability that allows him to be a threat to dunk it in traffic in transition. He is a capable outside shooter and a pest like defender that will continue to garner next level opportunities over the course of the next 9-12 months.

Washington delivered an efficient and controlled performance for Kinston, scoring 21 points on 10-of-14 shooting while adding five rebounds and five assists. The junior guard did a great job attacking the paint and making the right plays to keep Kinston’s offense flowing.

Washington is putting together a really special post season thus far and his performance in Kinston’s 73-62 final four victory over Martin County. In the win, Washington finished with 20 Points, 6 Rebounds, 6 Assists, and 1 Steal while shooting 9-10 from the floor and 2-3 from the free throw line. Washington possesses a ton of ability both on and off the ball while being capable of scoring in both the half-court and in transition. Washington is essentially guaranteed to get to the basket whenever he wants. He uses his body control, strength, and touch around the rim to finish in traffic with a high level of regularity. A downhill specialist as one would say, Washington does possess the ability to make some outside shots. He also does a great job contributing on the glass for a guard and making plays for his teammates. Washington is a guard that consistently delivers for Kinston and has now helped one of North Carolina’s most storied programs into yet another State Championship game.

Another guy who was been on a tear this grassroots season started the weekend off with a 30 point explosion in his normal 252 fashion. He gets to the rim with relative ease using his strong frame to bully smaller guards to the cup and looks to be improving from the perimeter as a shooter as well. He’s one of the stronger combo guards in the area and is trending upward.

Kinston has a plethora of guards who produce in some way or another for their current team, not many more important than Washington. The strong southpaw did a good job of getting to the paint where he continuously finished tough shot a at the rim. He also did his fair share on the glass for the smaller Kinston squad. 

A gritty guard out of Kinston High, Jamarion Washington Jamarion Washington 6'1" | CG Kinston | 2027 State NC continues to move in the 2027 rankings update as he checks in at 76th. He’s shown he can attack and finish at the rim now as the Vikings are 8-1 in the 2A East Central Conference with him and his counterpart, Keshawn Herring, leading the way in their backcourt. He’s a defensive menace who can find points in a hurry with his paint touches off the bounce.
