Now, Jalen is on the move but not in the direction that would excite a person; however, I am very excited about the season that Jalen has the potential to have. Jalen’s 10-spot drop from #32 to #42 has nothing to do with his game but all to do with other movements around him. Don’t be surprised if Jalen erases the 10-spot drop by the time the mid-season rankings are released. Jalen is a lengthy slasher with great athleticism. He gets to his spots on the court and makes plays for his teammates and himself. Defensively, he creates problems with his on-ball pressure, recovery speed, and quick leaping ability.

We first caught Jalen Bright Jalen Bright 6'3" | SG Hazel Green | 2024 State AL this spring when he was running with the Alabama Generals but Saturday offered a more in-depth look at Bright’s fruitful package. Bright played a pivotal role on the most dominant team. He’s got a terrific motor and provided a ton of positive activity. His outside shot looked smooth and found bottoms on a number of occasions. We saw flashes of the high level athleticism as well with some high-flying dunks. Bright certainly looks poised for a big senior season.

The 6-foot-3 Bright has established himself as a multi-sport athlete. In addition to basketball, he also participates in the track and field realm in the high jump, long jump and 200 meters. Bright is a combo guard who puts plenty of emphasis on taking care of the ball and is efficient in the midrange game. He understands the art of getting out in transition and can finish strong at the basket. Bright has the ability to dribble with either his right or his left, will find driving lanes to the rim and can be counted to finish with either strong dunks or connect on his attempts from behind the arc.
