Powell is an unsigned senior we saw lead Team Push NC to a huge win over Team CP3’s top EYBL team this weekend, and he was all over the floor making plays to lead his squad. He thrives in the mid-range and around the rim, making plays off the bounce all the time. His pull-up jumpers made defenses afraid of him, and then he punished them by getting downhill and to the cup. He also makes opponents struggle every time they see him guarding them, and put in some big shifts guarding CP3’s wings and guards that could really score the ball. He is also a true gamer, as he was obviously locked in the whole time against CP3, but seemed like he maintained that high intensity and energy level for the entire weekend. He is a name coaches still filling out their 2023 class need to check in on.

Powell paced the offensive attack for RCA with 19 points, knocking down four 3-pointers. He was aggressive in the third quarter but he ran out of gas a bit in the fourth quarter as things got away from them. As he improves his strength/toughness, look for his recruitment to grow.

Powell had a much better outing in Game 2 of the young season, finishing with 21 points, six rebounds, three assists and an emphatic late block to make his presence felt down the stretch. He’s a volume shooter that showed his range a bit but was a lot more dialed in inside the 3-point arc in this one. He’s a name to continue to track in 2022-23.

Known as one of the better wings in the NC 2023 Class, he picked up a solid amount of offers/interest and will be taking some unofficial visits through August and September. Richmond and Appalachian State are two of the schools on his list for visits, but he also holds offers from: High Point, NC A&T and Asheville.
