He protects the rim on a regular basis and had more than a few impressive blocks. He also did a great job of crashing the glass and securing rebounds. Beyond his stellar defense, he ran the floor with purpose, scoring in transition and in the half court. With play like that, he is a prospect who looks ready to keep rising in the rankings.

He is likely the tallest player in this class at the moment in Nevada and he leverages his height regularly on both ends of the court. On offense, guards can feed him the rock inside and from there he can use his footwork to get a bucket. Or shoot right over his defender. I’m also a fan of how he’s starting to test the waters more often, and he’s started to throw down dunks. While on defense, Bunyan can mark forwards/centers thanks to his frame and wingspan.

As the game progressed, he continued to take advantage of quality looks, before throwing down a powerful dunk in transition. The 6’8 big man struck again in the fourth, hammering home his second dunk of the night. Then with time winding down, he calmly poured in a smooth jumper with 15 seconds left to cut the deficit to two. Although Losee ultimately came up just short, Bunyan delivered a big-time performance.
