Sloane-Marks has piqued my interest since I first saw him in 7th grade. His blend of size, skill and versatility have been evident since he was 12 and as he’s continued to sprout to 6-foot-5, the fluidity has maintained. He was sidelined for a portion of the high school season due to an injury that is now 100 percent healed and that was evident in a grab-and-go possession he had Saturday afternoon as he glided down the floor with the ball to the rim maneuvering by three defenders in his path. The 15-year-old can catch from the mid-range and make plays off the bounce, effectively guard four positions on the floor at any given time and has a chance to be a name that catches some momentum on the UAA Circuit these next few months.

Despite the Hanna’s struggles as a team, Sloane-Marks has built on a standout freshman year while continuing to show promising indicators as a long-term prospect. A hard-playing lefty swing forward, he operates from all over the floor in the halfcourt as a scrappy finisher inside, intuitive passer facing the basket, and increasingly consistent shooter from the perimeter. He shows flashes as a ballhandler both as a slasher in the halfcourt and attacking in transition. Sloane-Marks separates himself with his length and motor, regularly hauling in double-figure rebounds and making momentum-swinging plays on the defensive end. He’s still a bit raw in his skillset but has the clear foundation to blossom into a D1 prospect over time.

Although it came in defeat, Sloane-Marks did his best to match Sallie with an active 23-point double-double. The rangy southpaw was effective working the high post as both a scorer and passer, and really shined on the offensive glass where he showed a never-ending motor that combined with his elite length to create a large handful of extra possessions. Sloane-Marks also stepped away from the rim to knock down 4 3s, showing a smooth release with his feet set. While he has some holes to iron out in his skill set, Sloane-Marks’ combination of length, rebounding, perimeter shooting, and a relentless motor make for a promising foundation at the D1 level while he continues to put the pieces together.

Sloane-Marks is an athletic forward with tons of potential. He played sparingly for Susquehanna Township as a freshman but should see an increase in minutes this season under the direction of a new head coach. His athleticism makes him a threat to finish strong at the rim and swat away shots on the defensive end. He’s also shown to be a force on the offensive glass. Jahkai will be a player to watch in the coming years.

He didn’t generate a ton of buzz as his team hovered around .500, but Sloane-Marks put together one of the more productive freshman years in the state while showing plenty of enticing long-term indicators. A versatile lefty wing forward, he’s more of a natural faceup ‘4’ with high-level upside as he grows and/or expands further to perimeter. He’s very physically impressive for just recently having turned 15, deploying his physical tools with an active approach near the basket and budding skill level as a shooter and slasher from the wing. Things are still a bit rough around the edges but the intersection of size, production, and youth provide a lot of directions for Sloane-Marks to go that could all result in a likely D1 prospect.

Sloane-Marks is a dynamic athlete with length, speed, and the ability to explode of the floor. During his standout freshman year Sloane-Marks earned a starting spot and averaged 12.8 points per night. He notched five games where he posted 18 or more points and poured in a season high 25 points (4 threes) against Wyomissing. Sloane-Marks does the bulk of his scoring on the interior via dives to the rim and his polished face up game. He can also produce points off one-two dribble attacks on the rim and the offensive glass. But do not sleep on Sloane-Marks jumper which is highly accurate from the baseline to the mid-range out to the arc. On defense, Sloane-Marks is a force on the glass.

Coming off a standout freshman season in which he was a double-double machine, Sloane-Marks looks like he’ll be a frequent standout among his age group with a chance to really break out across the state over the next year. Hailing from the same hometown as lottery pick and Team Thrill legend Jarace Walker, the southpaw shines at the 15U level with his ability to play effectively inside and out while sliding seamlessly across forward positions. Young for his grade with great positional size and blossoming fluidity, Sloane-Marks plays with consistent activity while shining in transition with a budding halfcourt skillset out to the perimeter. While coaches aren’t focusing much on the 15U level right now, it’s clear the makings of a high-level prospect are all there for the young wing forward with proper development in years to come.
