The lead guard for Susquehanna Township, Slappy propelled the Indians to the second round in both the District 3 4A and state playoffs. Mekhi is a 3-point specialist who often draws defenders outside the perimeter because of his deep range. He can create off-the-bounce and continues to improve as a playmaker.

One of the under the radar point guards in the Mid-Penn conference posted his breakout season this winter. During his junior year Slappy averaged 13.8 points per night on the strength of 3 made triples per game. On the season Slappy has knocked home 71 threes. He posted seven games this winter with 5 or more made threes. In addition to hitting jumpers from deep, Slappy is a remarkable floor who can direct half court sets or push the rock in transition for scores and assists. Slappy’s quick first step and elusive handles get him into the paint for floaters, lay-ins and kick out passes.

Somehow one of the premiere point guards in the Mid-Penn conference is still being overlooked by college coaches. Slappy is a remarkable floor general who also happens to be a lights out 3-point shooter. As a primary ball handler, Slappy can direct half court sets or push the rock in transition for scores and assists. His quick bursts and nifty handles get Slappy to the rim at will. If the help defense manages to cut him off, Slappy will drop a slick dime on a teammate. This past Saturday Slappy recorded 19 points (2 threes) against Trinity.
