About Israel

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I am a defensive-minded guard/small forward who does the intangibles and the dirty work to win the game. I can shoot the three and the mid-range whenever you need me to, and I make my teammates better. A great talker and high motor.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

I treat every game like it's my last. Foot on the gas all the time. I take constructive criticism with a grain of salt because it's only going to get me better. If a coach is takes the time to criticize you then they see something in you. So I thank all criticism and advice any coach can give me to get better.

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I am currently part of my high schools Student Government Association, as well as made Deans List and Honor Roll for my school. I plan on bringing a bowling team to St. Michael's as it is a great way to gain scholarship money and because I love it.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

All of my teachers, whether from public and private schools have labeled me as a "leader". Thankfully, with me coming to St. Michael's, I have the opportunity to directly gain service hours by volunteering my time at my school's events. I love working with others to complete a common goal.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

I think everyone has faced significant challenges in their life. In my case, it was a minor setback caused by a terrible ankle sprain in my original junior year when I was at Colonial Forge High School. The ankle sprain overall led to me barely playing my junior year but overall led me to St. Michael's so I can not complain at all.

What type of college are you looking for?

I would love a college that truly values their campus and has a family-like environment. Attending a small Catholic school like St. Michael's really made me love the idea of a tightknit community. I don't care if the school is a big university or a small institution, but as long as they have my major, a basketball team, and hopefully a bowling team, I would be happy.
