Kiehl was already a key defender and table-setter for Monroe last season, and he continued to improve as the season went on. He’s the type of kid who plays with the right mindset out there and is going to have an impact one way or another. He could end up being one of the top defenders in the Wesco this winter, and I’m betting on him taking a leap forward as a point guard and offensive threat.

Kiehl ran point for a pretty balanced Monroe squad. He can hit the three at a good clip, has some good quickness and acceleration to attack gaps, and has a little extra edge he can tap into in crunch time. He really stands out on the defensive end with his on-ball pressure, quick feet, and great motor.

Kiehl has been a big factor for Monroe in his sophomore year and it was clear to see his impact Wednesday night against Shorecrest in a winner-to-state game. At the top of their zone, he was quick to rotate and recognize opportunities to trap the ball, had active hands and feet, and was locked in each possession. He has some excellent quickness and it showed up on the offensive end later in the game when he was able to draw some fouls away from the hoop and work to the foul line. His defensive effort also helped seal the win for Monroe when he peeled back on a drive and stole a pass sinking from the top of their zone.

Kiehl is a sophomore to watch who jumped into the starting lineup for Monroe at their jamboree this week. He showed some impressive growth with his physical tools and handle, looking quicker and more threatening off the bounce. Monroe already has some guards who can shoot or slash, but Kiehl could bring a good balance of both to the floor, as well as an extra ballhandler who can create off the bounce.

Isaiah is a quick, athleitc guard who knows how to put 100% effort on both sides of the court. He does a great job doing a little bit of everything for Monroe. He has great size and can use it well when getting to the paint and his other spots at the mid-range level.
