Arnaman, per usual, was the best player on the floor Friday night, netting a game-high 27 points. I’ve been impressed with the Bear standout since seeing him excel as a sophomore two years ago. In my first live look at him this season, the gains made in his game were obvious. An already nice handle has become more firm. I also like that he attacks the basket more often with added strength and an ability to finish at the rim. Minnesota State did well in securing a commitment from this under-valued combo guard. I’ll be watching and expecting big things from Arnaman on the next level.

Solon did a good job against Arnaman on the defensive end, limiting the 6-3 point guard to just 6-17 shooting, but he still finished with 19 points and 5 assists in the Bears’ loss. He has a tremendous feel for the game and doesn’t force anything, finding good looks for himself and his teammates. He’s one of the best ball-handlers in the state, keeping his dribble alive against constant pressure and finding open teammates, and he has the type of range that the defender needs to pick him up at halfcourt. He takes advantage of that by getting to the rim, using his handles and quick first step to get by defenders and into the teeth of the defense.

Arnaman recently committed to play his college ball at Minnesota State. He’ll give the Mavericks an incredibly skilled offensive weapon who can really shoot it at a high clip off the dribble and create for his teammates off the bounce. He has a great feel for the game and really knows how to get to his spots. He averaged 21.8 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 5.7 assists a game last season on 47-42-68 splits.

Arnaman was one of the most productive guards in the state last season, averaging 21.8 points and 5.7 assists on 47-42-68 shooting splits. He shoots it extremely well off the dribble, getting the ball into his shooting pocket quickly, and he has “in the gym” range. The threat of his jumper opens up the rest of his offensive arsenal, and he’s a good ball-handler who can finish through contact around the rim with a strong upper body. Blessed with great court vision and a flair for passing the rock, he’s a dynamic all-around offensive weapon who had one of the best summers of any player in the state.
