Koenig didn’t get any varsity run with the Bears as a freshman, but he had a strong 15U season with Court 45 and was really impressive when we saw him play throughout the spring and summer. A lefty guard who can score from all three levels, he’s a tough player who doesn’t shy away from contact and can finish through it at the rim. He’s a capable shooter from the 3-point line but is at his best when he’s aggressively attacking the rim.

A lefty guard who likes to play downhill and attack the rim, Koenig has a great first step that he uses to blow by defenders. He changes speeds well and can play with pace, lulling his defender to sleep before bursting towards the rim. The threat of that quick first step also allowed him to knock down some shots that were a little less contested than they should’ve been, with a defender afraid of getting blown by again.
