Gavin got off to a hot start in the opening game for Northern Lakers 16u. On his team’s first possession of the game he found a teammate cutting to the rim for an easy assist. On the second possession of the game it was Gavin beating his defender with a backdoor cut for two points. On the third possession Gavin effortlessly beat his man off the dribble to get to the rim for another score. Wegwerth keeps things simple, but he excels at it, allowing him to constantly create high percentage looks right at the basket. Knows exactly when to attack, and is very clever with his off-ball movement to create open looks.
