Five New Names to Know

[player_tooltip player_id='3014754' first='Max' last='Jazdzewski'] of Cloquet (sr). A 6'5, 185 pound wing that averaged 20 points and seven rebounds a game which was good for second team all league. Recently visited UMAC D3 school North Central for hoops. Also a good football prospect.

Joseph Dupree of Duluth Dendfeld (soph). Denfeld lost five seniors and most played a role. Dupree is a player that we think can step right in and play a key role going from a 4.5 point, 2.5 assist freshman to a double figure scorer. A quick player that can playmake.

Aidan Reini of Hibbing (sr). A 6'2 guard that appears to be the third leading returning scorer for the Bluejackets. Aidan is a tough defending senior that has a lot of experience with his team. Reini is a versatile playmaker as well.

Beckett Engel of Rock Ridge (sr). The Wolverines lost a lot of their experience but Engel is a veteran who can shoot the ball and plays really guard. Has quickness with the dribble too and should be a top player for them.

[player_tooltip player_id='2860101' first='Noah' last='Schulz'] of Hermantown (soph). Hermantown is going to have a number of three year starters this year plus other very good players. Noah is one of the many guys that we think will contribute to them having a big year. As a freshman Noah scored over a dozen points a game and was an instant impact guy. Schulz was a versatile scorer that can hit form the arc but score in several ways in the paint as well.

Top Five Teams

Hibbing. Everything comes down to finding a way to beat GR who beat them three times last year. We think it happens.

Grand Rapids. Two starters gone is something to keep an eye on but they are some really good young guys back that played a lot last year as sophomores.

Duluth Denfeld. [player_tooltip player_id='2877064' first='Carter' last='Brown'] is one of the elite numbers guys in the state which is good because nobody else that is returning scored more than a couple times a game last season.

Hermantown. We are being safe at 4th year after winning eight games last year but if things break right, they could be an outside shot contending team.

Chisago Lakes. I think they will be better than Rock Ridge, Cloquet, and North Branch but keep in mind the top five scorers graduated.

Top 3 7AAA Players

[player_tooltip player_id='2877064' first='Carter' last='Brown'] of Duluth Denfeld (Sr)

[player_tooltip player_id='2126126' first='Ray' last='Brau'] of Hibbing (Sr)

[player_tooltip player_id='2814304' first='Gavin' last='Wegwerth'] of Grand Rapids (Jr)

Three Teams That Should Improve Their Record

Hibbing (20-9 last season)

Hermantown (8-19 last year)

Rock Ridge (5-22 a year ago)

Three Teams That Might Not Match Last Year's Win Total

Chisago Lakes (12-16 last year)

Cloquet (9-18 last season)

Grand Rapids (24-6 last year)
