Prep Hoops Ranking: 8
No player elevated his stock more with college recruiters this spring than Ploeckelman, who went from zero NCAA Division I scholarship offers in March to eight by the end of May. His verticality, versatility and vibrant presence on the court shone all spring for ElevateUAA. Ploeckelman can block shots, finish above the rim for big dunks, make shots facing the basket and guard different positions. His list of offers includes Air Force, Boston University, Florida Gulf Coast, Holy Cross, Iona, LeMoyne, Milwaukee and UNC Wilmington.
One of the true stock boosters of the spring, Ploeckelman is a key performer for a very good ElevateUAA squad. His length, quickness off the floor, shot blocking and diversified scoring skills have not gone unnoticed as he has picked up NCAA Division II offers from both Missouri S&T and Purdue-Northwest. ElevateUAA director Mike Weinstein believes Ploeckelman is a D1 mid-major prospect and the Mukwonago forward will get the chance to prove his worth with coaches from that level this weekend on the Under Armour Association circuit.
One of the hottest players in the state’s 2027 class with recent NCAA Division II scholarship offers from Missouri S&T and Purdue Northwest, Ploeckelman’s versatility, athleticism and skill are all very solid. He can guard multiple positions because of his length and mobility, can block shots with his verticality, and can finish lobs and drives above the rim. He did all of the above for ElevateUAA
in its come-from-behind win over Midwest Renegade
on Saturday, proving his stock in Wisconsin’s loaded 2027 class is indeed on the rise.
Lots to like about Ploeckelman and his ability to impact a game. He can attack the basket from the wing or high post. He can post-up with his back to the basket. He can drop dimes to cutting teammates with his stellar passing ability. And he is quick off his feet to snare rebounds and block/alter shots. Ranked among the better players in Wisconsin’s loaded 2027 class, Ploeckelman’s size, strength and skill are very impressive. He is coming off a junior season where he averaged 13 points and 8 rebounds. He is one of the top returning players in the Classic Eight Conference and a player scholarship programs will watch closely over the next 12 months.
Evan is a versatile forward who can hurt you in a number of ways at 6’6. Rather than just trying to float out on the perimeter and take low percentage pull-up jumpers, Evan was taking full advantage of his size trying to get to the rim. At 6’6 he’s able to take opposing forwards off the dribble, and does a nice job of playing off two feet in the paint to gather his balance before going up to finish. On the defensive end he’s able to move his feet to defend on the wing while also providing a shot blocking threat with his long frame inside.
Ploeckelman more than held his own against some impressive athletes from Waubonsie Valley as he used his length, dexterity and aggressiveness to get to the rim and finish. He was very good in the open court, but he also was able to gather the ball on the wing and get into the lane to score. His 22 points were instrumental in helping Mukwonago hang with Waubonsie Valleyu for the majority of the contest. Ploeckelman drew three fouls and earned six foul attempts, making four. One of the better prospects in Wisconsin’s 2027 class, Ploeckelman’s stock will only increase as he expands his game to the perimeter in the future.
