Expert Analysis
Ross Van De Griek | Prep Hoops Scout
Enrico Borio, A 6-8 senior power forward and Jacksonville University commit is long, athletic and can stretch the floor with good instincts. Borio plays at a high level whether it’s on the interior or when he is guarding out on the perimeter. His passing game is above-average where he sees the floor exceptionally well given his size and can play multiple positions on the offensive end. On the defensive end, Borio is very versatile where he can guard position 2 through 4 as his on-the-ball defense is still a work in progress. Really intrigued to see if Borio continues to get stronger this season before playing at the D-1 collegiate level.

The 6-8 power forward played more of a versatile wing for North Broward Prep scoring 13 points and going 5-of-6 from the free throw line in a win over Milton (Georgia). Borio was finishing efficiently around the rim and was unafraid to finish with contact and get to the line. Borio also showed very good ball-handling skills and creating for his teammates dishing out some nice, crisp passes as well.

At 6-8, Borio has one of the quickest releases of a shot you may find with someone at that size and frame. He is lethal when it comes to catch-and-shoot as he has increased his confidence to shoot from beyond the arc. Borio plays on the U17 Brazilian National Team and put up some outstanding numbers averaging 6.7 points and 7.5 rebounds per game at the FIBA U17 World Championships.

Possessing one of the smoothest jumpers you’ll ever see, Borio was a man on a mission for Florida Pro on Saturday. A lethal catch and shoot weapon, Borio knocked down multiple three’s with his quick release, but what impressed me most was his playmaking ability. At 6-8, the Brazilian National Team member can create off the dribble for himself and teammates, no matter how tight the defensive pressure is.
