Prep Hoops Florida is taking a look at the preseason all-state teams for the upcoming season. We have a lot of new faces in new places this season and are excited to tip-off next month. Here are the nominees for the Class 3A Player of the Year this season. Voting will end on Wednesday, October 18.
A 6-0 junior guard that can score on all three levels whether it’s off the bounce or off the catch. Knowles plays with a high IQ and makes good decisions when he has the basketball in his hands on to shoot versus pass.
A 6-8 senior power forward and Jacksonville University commit. Borio averaged 11.1 points and 8.9 rebounds per game as a junior last season.
Jacob Daniels Jacob Daniels 5'9" | PG Gibbs | 2025 State FL
A 6-0 junior guard who averaged a team-best 16.8 points per game as a sophomore last season. Led Gibbs to their second consecuctive Final Four appearance.
Christopher Washington Jr. Christopher Washington Jr. 6'7" | SF The Villages | 2026 State FL
A 6-8 sophomore power forward who was named to the All-State Third Team last year. Currently holds offers from Bethune-Cookman, Florida State, Stetson, Texas A&M and others.
Brisun Hammermeister Brisun Hammermeister 6'7" | SG The Villages | 2026 State FL
A 6-7 sophomore wing has a knack where he can score across all three levels and is an above-average rebounder using his athletic frame to finish put-backs at the front of the rim.
A 6-1 senior guard and a recent UNC-Asheville commit who likes to push the basketball in transition every opportunity he gets. He plays with an explosive pace and can knock down shots across all three levels and can create space with his own playmaking.
Anakin Brown Anakin Brown 6'4" | CG N/A | 2024 State FL
A 6-3 senior guard who can be a disruptor on the defensive end as he often turns steals into fast break layups on the other end. Brown has a two-dimensional attribute to his game where he can also score from beyond the arc where he shot 32 percent from beyond the arc this past season for Bolles.
Ethan Bergantino Ethan Bergantino 6'3" | SG Central Highschool | 2026 State FL
A 6-1 sophomore shooting guard who has a strong knack for finishing above the rim. He is also a natural three-level scorer as well as a high-level defender. Rebounds exceptionally well for his size.
