Andrew Johnson | Prep Hoops Scout
Knowles is the ultimate two-way guard. His strong frame allows him to create separation offensively, get into the paint, and initiate offense for his teammates. Defensively, he’s a problem—relentlessly pressuring ball handlers, forcing turnovers, and using his quick hands to disrupt opposing offenses.

Knowles got it started for Sagemont with a rip through drive into the paint for a floater, then followed up a missed shot attempt by teammate Matthew Able. Knowles was all over the court and attacking the paint to draw defenders for the kickout to his shooters. Defensively, he is committed and picked up full court on some possessions, being that pesky defender who just gets into the offense and makes them flustered. With about 5 minutes to go in the 1st half, Knowles almost came up with a steal of the inbounds after a made bucket as well just pressuring the offense and reading where his assignment was going towards the ball.

. Another combo guard sharing backcourt duties with Lopez who sets his teammates up but also spreads the floor with his driving ability and accuracy from inside the arc. Knowles is constantly on the move offensively and keeping his head up to find teammates on the move. He led his team in assists last year and should be able to continue that trajectory on the circuit. Defensively Knowles is that pesky disruptor, slicing into passing lanes and coming up with the steal to lead the break. His defensive activity leads to transition offense and open looks for his teammates.

The 6-0 junior guard doesn’t get rattled when it comes to defenses applying pressure on him when he has the ball in his hands. Knowles is also known to be a solid passer whether it’s off the bounce or on the move. He also brings a good combination skillset of size and speed on the defensive end where he is able to jump the passing lanes. Knowles also has a strong knack of making havoc for opposing guards when he is on the ball forcing tough shots as well as rebounding well for his size. Expect his recruitment to take a big leap as we are getting near the AAU season.
