McKinnie is the kind of player who could wake you up just by watching him play, bringing an electric feel to the game with his court vision and creativity. I’m not sure I saw another freshman who saw the full court the way he did. Over and over again, McKinnie pulled down the rebound, lobbed the pass down the floor, and hit the open player for an easy score. He was a threat from three and got good elevation on his rebounds. While McKinnie can push the ball downhill himself, what really stood out is how often his vision puts his teammates in position to do the same.

Mckinnie was a standout with his high motor and activity all over the court. An intriguing South Side Chicago kid, his speed was noticeable in the open floor, creating opportunities to attack and get downhill, while showing the skill and footwork to finish through tight coverage. Liked his ability to use hesitation moves and change of direction to get by defenders, along with his defensive hustle and willingness to make things uncomfortable for opponents. As he continues to improve his control and tempo, his speed and motor could become even bigger strengths.

McKinnie has the look of the next standout guard from Kenwood. Impressed with Greater Purpose Athletics playing up on the 16U level along with showing flashes with his high school team in June. Speedy left handed guard that gets downhill with slithery drives along with having range on his shot.
