Johnson demonstrated high-level all-around play during his junior season, averaging 7.5 rebounds per game and shooting an impressive 60% from the field. His ability to dominate the glass made him a valuable contributor on both ends of the floor, while defensively, he patrolled the lane as a skilled shot blocker, averaging 0.9 blocks per game. Heading into his senior season Johnson is a standout player who should be fun to watch, before he heads to the Iowa Hawkeyes to begin his collegiate football experience.

While Eli has already announced his commitment to join the Iowa Hawkeyes football program – “Tight End U” – at that position, I would be remiss if I didn’t mention his ability on the hardwood as well. Unsurprisingly for a Power Five tight end, Eli is strong and can convert through hard contact at the hoop. He is aggressive on the glass, rips rebounds from opponents and wins battles for 50/50 balls. He has ample athletic ability to pair with his stout frame and displayed it with an easy two-hand dunk on a run-out. Johnson works hard on both ends of the floor and will most certainly be an asset for a potent Wildcats team this winter.

Eli provides a physical presence inside for River Falls. Having just finished his sophomore year, he already has a strong frame at 6’6. Moves well at his size to contest shots, and does a nice job of walling up to avoid fouling. Strong rebounder who looks the part of a constant double-double threat with his ability to pull in missed shots in bulk. Dangerous out of the pick & roll with his mobility rolling to the basket and coordination to catch and finish on the move at 6’6.
