was running with Wisconsin Triple Threat over the weekend, and was making big plays on both ends. His quickness is likely his best asset, and it showed on the defensive end as he was an absolute pest on the ball. Laongoen can pressure the ball with the best of them, and forced a handful of turnovers in the game I watched. Was then able to get to the rim on his own or find a teammate sprinting ahead. In the half-court he’s difficult to stay in front of and has no problem handling the ball under pressure. Tough to keep out of the paint where he can finish over the top or dump it off to a big.

Demond was fun to watch run the show for his team on Saturday, showing off his balanced skill set as a true point guard. He impressed me the most when creating for his teammates, displaying elite vision and passing accuracy. He could push the pace, being able to loft passes over the defense for easy layups. He could also score himself, using his strong frame to bump defenders for finishes through contact inside. Laongoen is a talented senior guard who is still unsigned.

Demond helped power Madison East past West Allis Central with a big second half. Defenders had a hard time keeping him in front, as he utilized his quickness to repeatedly get two feet in the paint. Demond did a great job of keeping his eyes scanning the floor which allowed him to zip in some quick passes to his forwards at the rim for easy buckets. He possesses a solid outside shot to keep defenders honest, and a high arcing floater that allowed him to finish over taller defenders in the paint.

Demond was making a big impact on the defensive end for Madison East. He’s one of those guys you can throw on an opposing point guard and have him pester them for the entire game. He’s going to pick up full-court and force his man to turn multiple times, and is always going to be getting on the floor for any loose ball in his area. No rebound is safe when Demond is around because he showcased quick hands to reach in and poke the ball free to give his team extra possessions. Offensively he was dangerous as a drive and dish passer because of his quickness to get into the lane.

Demond is such a dangerous player in transition. He’s almost always going to make the right play if he has a numbers advantage going at the basket, with the ability to look a defender off before passing it in the opposite direction to open his teammate up. With his strong frame he also excels at hanging in the air and maintaining his balance through some contact to finish when the opportunity is there. In the half-court he has a shifty handle to create some separation on the perimeter but is also a good passer out of the pick & roll. Finished his sophomore season playing varsity for Madison East’s last two games, and with the team losing so much talent from last year he should see a big role as a junior.
