Expert Analysis
Brian Flinn | Prep Hoops Scout
It’s still early for Riddick, but his best basketball looks to be ahead of him. The athletic 6-foot-5 swingman is at his best attacking the rim and found baskets in transition and off smart cuts. He rebounds well and has the length and athleticism to hold up against bigger players defensively.

An athletic wing who is at his best when attacking the rim, Riddick will look to improve on what was a highly impressive freshman campaign. He gets to rim well enough on his own and uses his length well both as a defender and rebounder.

Perhaps the most physically gifted prospect in the gym, Riddick put his tools to good use throughout the day while applying consistent pressure on both ends of the floor. He was effective attacking the rim in transition or ripping through from the perimeter, also showing a nose for the ball off cuts and while crashing the glass. Riddick was effective defensively using his size, strength, and quick feet to guard a variety of matchups and cover ground to rack up stocks while creating opportunities for transition offense. If he can meld the aggression with more of the nuanced skillset he flashed in the high school season, Riddick could prove to be one of the higher-upside long-term wings in the class.

One of the more productive freshmen in the state this season, Riddick only scored 4 points on the night but still stood out as arguably the highest-level long-term prospect on the floor. Blessed with a long, lean frame and fluid movements, he showed natural touch as a smooth shooter out to the perimeter and really intrigued with his pace and footwork as a slasher off the bounce. RIddick was also active on the glass, using his length to extend or close out possessions. We’d like to see him be more aggressive in future viewings but the ceiling is undeniable when considering Riddick’s skillset, physical tools, bloodlines, and youth.

Another freshman focal point for Clearview, Riddick has shown flashes of brilliance amid bouts with injury while establishing himself as one of the area’s most intriguing long-term prospects in the 2029 class. A long and lanky wing, he’s still coming into his own physically and athletically but shows promising markers at an early stage. From a skill standpoint, he shows natural touch as both a perimeter shooter and finisher near the rim with intriguing instincts to his ball skills and footwork as a slasher. With his length, versatility, and high-level athletic bloodlines, Riddick clearly has an appealing outlook as a potential D1 prospect with upside to spare as he continues to develop.
